Α Defeat for the Neonazis, a Victory for Freedom of the Press
Dimitris Psarras, investigative journalist who has brought to light evidence of Golden Dawn’s criminal activities, and Nicolas Voulelis, executive editor of the collaborative newspaper Efimerida ton Syntaktón (EfSyn), right after their acquittal in court.
Elias Kasidiaris, a Golden Dawn MP held in custody for criminal acts, had sued them over “insult” and “exposure of personal data”. The lawsuit was based on the fact that Dimitris Psarras had posted a video on the EfSyn webpage in which Kasidaris posing as a policeman tortured a “detainee”.
Voulelis’ and Psarras’ acquittal is a victory for the freedom of speech and press, and a defeat for the Neonazis.
