The right-wing political parties and formations are gaining more and more ground in Europe – and it was clear long before the last European elections in 2014. The European extreme right is homogeneous political subject. The UKIP in Britain, the National Front in France, the Alternative for Germany (AfD), the Golden Dawn in Greece are some of the constructs that have many similarities but also major differences.

In our conference we will try to answer some key questions about the rise of the extreme right in Europe: Which raises the right-wing ideologies in different countries? What role is played by the economic and financial crisis on the rise of right-wing parties? What are the methods used by the far-right figures to gain social acceptance and appear as new allies of conservative parties in their countries? How long have penetrated far right to state institutions and what support the penetration? How can we resist the extreme right at national and European level?

In view of the forthcoming trial of the Golden Dawn in Greece, special theme of the conference will be devoted to lawsuits right-wing people and arrangements in several European countries (Norway, Germany).

The conference will be held at Gazarte, Voutadon 32, Gazi, and all sessions are open to the public.

On Friday, 21/11, at 18:30, debate in the auditorium of the “Athens 9.84” Gazi.

Languages of the conference: Greek, English, German with simultaneous translation.

The conference is organized in cooperation with the attac.
